Albertsons unveils healthy eating program

FULLERTON, Calif. Albertsons has launched a new program aimed at curbing childhood obesity. The Albertsons Healthy Eaters field trip program introduces children in Kindergarten to 4th grades to healthy eating habits.

Developed in conjunction with Alberstons nutritionist, Heidi Diller, the Health Eaters program involves trained tour leaders teaching nutrition topics geared toward specific age groups, the company reported. At the end of the tour, participants receive free samples of healthy foods and goodie bags.

"With the launch of our Albertsons Healthy Eaters(TM) program, we are excited about the opportunity to make a significant difference in the health and wellness of the children in the communities we serve."
