Albertsons to Sell 72 C-Stores

Denver Valero Energy Corp. has agreed to buy 72 convenience stores and fueling stations from Albertsons LLC, according to the Denver Business Journal.

The retail gasoline stations and stores are located in Colorado, Texas, Arizona and Louisiana, the report said, with the bulk concentrated in the Denver area, Dallas-Fort Worth, Baton Rouge and Lafayette, La., and Phoenix markets.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Valero officials expect to close the transaction in August 2008 if the company can secure the required government approvals.
