Albertson’s ends online delivery in two markets
Eden Prairie, Minn. Albertson's said Tuesday it intends to end its online home-delivery grocery service to customers in Boise, Idaho and Portland, Ore.
The Supervalu-owned chain will discontinue the online service in both markets on April 25.
According to Albertson’s spokeswoman Stephanie Worrell, the decision came after a review of industry trends and economic conditions.
The company intends to invest in improvements of their online presence in hopes of resuming the service in the future.
Ending the program will have not lead to any employee layoffs.
But, Worrell added, it does impact about 1,600 customers in Portland and Boise who have used the service. Store officials have already started notifying frequent online users.
