Home security systems used to be expensive and complicated to install, but that’s not the case any more with the GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System from Jasco (pictured).
Unveiled at CES, Choice Alert is operated by a $30 control center monitor that can track up to 16 sensors throughout a home on doors and windows. And they’re even durable enough to handle outside gates.
“We’ve taken what used to be a large commercial system and scaled it down for use in a home or even a condo,” said Jasco product manager Craig Morris.
Another company marketing affordable, though slightly more expensive, home security is Zonet. It just released its Zonet Internet Protocol night security camera that features night vision and an audio sensor that allows users to see and hear what’s going on outside. The basic model retails for $220.
