A&F Same-Store Sales Fall 20% in Jan.

New Albany, Ohio Abercrombie & Fitch Co. said Thursday its same-store sales fell 20% in January.

Same-store sales at Abercrombie & Fitch brand stores fell 16%, and 24% at its abercrombie kids division chain. Its Hollister Co. unit reported a 24% decline in same-store sales. Same-store sales fell 17% at Ruehl stores.

Abercrombie & Fitch said its total sales fell 13% to $191.5 million in January.

The company also said its fiscal 2008 revenue decreased 6% to $3.54 billion from $3.75 billion. That implies fourth-quarter sales of just under $1 billion.

The company is scheduled to report its full fourth-quarter results on Feb. 13.
