Aeropostale posts 15% Sept. net sales increase

NEW YORK Aeropostale posted net sales for the five-week period ended Oct. 4 of $146.7 million, a 15% increase over $127.9 million in the like 2007 period. Same-store sales increased 5% for September, compared to a 1% increase in the year-ago period.

The company confirmed its previously-issued third-quarter earnings guidance of 59 cents to 61 cents per share, compared to earnings of 48 cents per share last year, representing an increase of approximately 23% to 27%.
