Aeropostale launches collection with social media stars

10/27/2014

Aeropostale has jumped on the social media band-wagon big time this fall. The company has partnered with popular Vine stars Nash Grier, Hayes Grier, Cameron Dallas and Carter Reynolds for a launch of the UNITED XXVI Collection.

The first-ever UNITED XXVI Collection launched October 25th, exclusively in Aeropostale stores nationwide and on Aeropostale.com. The collection was designed to appeal to “edgy and contemporary” customer and to illustrate the most important "Fashion Now" statements of each of the young men's lifestyles.

The collection will consist of signature styles for both young men and women, each piece intricately designed with original artwork combined with textured fabrics, new silhouettes and cool updated washes hand-picked from Nash, Hayes, Cameron and Carter. The pieces in the collection range from $13 to $20, in line with Aeropostale’s young, primarily teen clientele.

"Designing a collection with Aeropostale was completely surreal," says Nash Grier, who has been dubbed the "King of Vine" with over 9.2 million followers on the site. "Having the freedom to infuse our personal styles into our very own clothing collection was not only an entirely new experience for us, but a great way to connect with a brand we have all been huge fans of for quite some time."

"We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Nash, Hayes, Cameron and Carter on their first-ever design collection," says Emilia Fabricant, EVP of Aero brands. "Each of the guys brings such a different perspective to the table, yet as a whole, their ability to connect with the Aeropostale customer is a phenomenon in itself."

"There are obvious synergies between the boys' creative zest for life and the imaginative energy that Aeropostale is putting into their new designs," says Steven Spiegel, CEO of 26 Management Team. "It was inspiring to see the boys work with the Aeropostale designers to create the UNITED XXVI Collection, and to see how excited they are about the finished products. We are delighted to watch this partnership grow."

Aero is knows for speaking directly to their consumers via social media and the decision to collaborate with the Viine stars on design was an organic extension of that effort. Combined, the four young men boast a total following of over 20 million.
