Advance Auto to Grow Minn. Operations
Roanake, Va. Advance Auto Parts Inc. is growing its Minnesota operations, according to a report in The Roanoke Times.
The company plans to transfer 40 jobs from its headquarters to the Twin Cities.
The report said that the company's Minnesota office is aiming to employ about 100 people, more than it had initially planned for, and could add more in the future, the report said. It will, however, keep its headquarters in Roanoke.
A company spokesperson said in the report that the relocation is an attempt to double sales to $10 billion in the next five years.
However, Darren Jackson, the recently appointed CEO of Advance Auto who was formerly CFO at Minneapolis-based Best Buy Co., established the Minnesota office so he could run the Virginia-based company from his hometown.
