Adrenalina proposes to acquire West 49

Miami Extreme-sports retailer Adrenalina is looking to take over struggling Canadian skate-and-surfboard retailer West 49. The unsolicited bid by Adrenalina values the chain at C$35.1 million.

West 49 operates approximately 130 stores in Canada under various names including Billabong, Off The Wall and D-Tox. The company posted a loss in its most recent quarter.
