Abercrombie & Fitch to Launch New Anti-Counterfeiting Program
New Albany, Ohio, Abercrombie & Fitch announced Wednesday that the company is launching a new program to further prevent and stop the counterfeiting of its products on a global scale.
This new program will improve current practices and strategies by focusing on eliminating the supply of illicit Abercrombie & Fitch products. The Brand Protection team will also increase staff internationally and will interact with investigators, customs officials and law enforcement entities in order to stop the counterfeiting of its goods.
Shane Berry, formerly of the FBI’s Intellectual Property Rights Program, will be leading the new anti-counterfeiting program, called the Abercrombie & Fitch Brand Protection team.
Berry joined A&F in November 2005 after serving seven years as a supervisory special agent for the FBI. Prior to his role with the FBI he served as a special agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
