Aaron's reshuffles management team
Aaron's has promoted VP of finance Steven A. Michaels to VP of strategic planning and business development. Additionally, Robert W. Kamerschen, SVP and general counsel, will add corporate secretary to his responsibilities, and Kimberly R. Rivera is joining the company as VP of learning and development.
"This is an exciting time for all members of Aaron's as we continue to strengthen our management team and build a platform for sustainable growth," said Ronald W. Allen, Aaron's chairman, president and CEO.
Michaels has been with the company since 1995. He has held various roles within the organization starting in the audit department and progressing to his current role as VP of finance in 2008. Michaels has a finance degree from the University of Florida, an MBA from Georgia State University and is a CPA.
Kamerschen joined Aaron's in June and manages all legal and governmental affairs for Aaron's, including employment law, regulatory matters, intellectual property, litigation, vendor relationships, financings, acquisitions and other general legal matters. As corporate secretary, Kamerschen will support the board of directors and will lead the company's corporate governance initiatives.
Rivera will be responsible for creating and refining training and development programs for Aaron's more than 12,000 employees. Rivera has 17 years of experience in the corporate coaching, human resources, training and development arenas. Most recently, Rivera owned a corporate training and development company and worked with Aaron's as a consultant to create a Leadership Development program for the management team.
