'60 Minutes' on the next big data breach
Americans’ well-founded apprehension about the security of their personal information received a booster shot of sorts when 60 Minutes aired a disturbing piece about the state of digital security.
Timed to air Sunday evening, after millions of American’s had used their credit cards in store and online, the 60 minutes piece was largely a recap of issues with which retailer executives are already familiar. Consumers less familiar with the data security landscape surely found the report unsettling, especially the parts about relentless attacks from organized groups and the brazen nature in which card data is peddled on the Internet. The full report, along with a couple ads for Microsoft and Viagra, is about 13 minutes and available for viewing HERE.
