$4 prescriptions a success says Wal-Mart
BENTONVILLE, Ark. According to reports, Wal-Mart Stores' evp and coo of the U.S. store division, Bill Simon, told a group of reporters Thursday that the company's $4 prescription drugs account for 40% of all prescriptions filled at Wal-Mart stores.
Simon reportedly told journalists at a media conference that the company's prescription drug program saved customers and employees about $350 million since it was introduced six months ago and that nearly 30% of the prescriptions filled are for those customers without health insurance.
Simon also reiterated Wal-Mart's plans to expand its in-store clinic programs by adding 400 in in the next three to four years.
