3M names senior vp of legal affairs

ST. PAUL, Minn. 3M has promoted Marschall Smith, vp, general counsel and secretary of Brunswick Corp. to senior vp of legal affairs and general counsel for 3M, effective July 16.

Smith will replace Richard Ziegler, who announced his retirement earlier in the year.

Smith has served as vp, general counsel and secretary of Brunswick Corp. since 2001. Prior to that, he was evp of corporate development and general counsel of Digitas.
