Pacific City, an open-air lifestyle center across from the Huntington Beach Pier in SoCal, will be jazzing up its patrons for real this summer.

This summer, it will welcome a musical legend to its tenant roster — The Lighthouse, one of the legendary outposts of West Coast jazz beginning in the 1950s.

Originally established in Hermosa Beach, its stage welcomed jazz legends the likes of Miles Davis, Ramsey Lewis, Chet Baker, and Mose Allison. The establishment’s name was changed to “The Lighthouse Café” over time, but its resurrectors have gone back to the original label.

“Adding The Lighthouse is a natural fit for Pacific City and reinforces our commitment to creating an experience-driven destination centered on entertainment, social connection and a coastal lifestyle,” said Pacific City’s general manager Jeff Miyaoka.

Throughout its history, the club won worldwide recognition as a filming location for Hollywood movie crews. The new Pacific City location will carry on that tradition with a regular lineup of live performances, including reggae, rock, and cover bands as well as its signature Sunday Jazz Brunch.

Located on Pacific City’s upper-level deck, the 4,763-sq.-ft. Lighthouse will feature outdoor seating with ocean views. It will offer elevated coastal comfort food paired with a full bar program, a happy hour, and weekend programming. Designed as both a live music destination and a social gathering place, the venue blends daytime dining with evening entertainment and nightlife.

“We’re thrilled to bring The Lighthouse to Pacific City and introduce a new audience to the music, energy and history of this legendary venue,“ said Josh Royal, a partner in The Lighthouse.

Operated by Centennial and owned by Nuveen, Pacific City is an oceanfront shopping, dining and entertainment destination located on Pacific Coast Highway across from the Huntington Beach Pier. The center features 191,000 square feet of boutique and national retailers, an Equinox fitness club and spa, and first-to-market restaurants.
