Kurt Geiger eyes 50 new North American stores
A U.K.-based luxury footwear and accessories brand is planning a major expansion across the pond.
Kurt Geiger is planning to expand its presence in North America, opening 50 stores during the next five years. The fashion brand opened two stores in California, one in New York and two in Mexico in late 2024 (locations at end of article). An additional five stores are in development across North America for early 2025, including locations in Miami, Houston and New York.
The recent expansion follows four pre-existing boutiques in Mexico and the opening of Kurt Geiger’s outpost at Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Fla., which had its ribbon-cutting in early 2024 and is trading 25% ahead of the brand’s most ambitious projections, the company said.
Kurt Geiger currently operates over 60 stores and 15 boutiques worldwide.
“We’re going big in North America,” said Neil Clifford, CEO of Kurt Geiger. “Seeing our growth in the region, we believe our creative and social spirit and our statement-making styles aren’t just for Londonphiles. We love the idea of Kurt Geiger being a worldwide conduit of London’s pop culture scene.”
According to Kurt Geiger, North America is now the brand’s fastest growing and largest market, where celebrities including Kylie Jenner, Olivia Rodrigo, Rihanna and Paris Hilton have helped put the label centerstage in the pop culture spotlight. From 2018 until now, gross sales have grown “100-fold," the company said. In addition to its own stores, the brand is distributed at select U.S. retailers, including Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Dillard’s.
The new venues (and all, going forward) are designed around a refreshed design concept that debuted at Kurt Geiger’s 3,000-sq.-ft. Oxford Street flagship in London, which opened in September 2023. Envisioned by the brand’s chief creative officer, Rebecca Farrar-Hockley, the new visual identity features rainbow-hued glass arranged in diamond or lattice-like grids, illuminated antique brass shelving, “eccentrically fringed” elements and a “quintessential” English floral print.
“Our designs aim to bring a sense of joy, individuality, and accessibility to our customers, which has truly resonated here in the Americas,” said Farrar-Hockley. “From our statement heels to the iconic Kensington bag, each product is crafted to empower with confidence and creativity. This region’s embrace of our bold, London-inspired style speaks to the universal appeal of vibrant, expressive fashion, and we’re thrilled to see Kurt Geiger become a part of everyday wardrobes across North America and beyond.”
