A Canadian pizza chain is planning its expansion into the United States.

Freshslice Pizza, which operates over 100 stores in Canada, will open its first two U.S.-based franchises in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Local resident and entrepreneur Trenton Parks is the chain’s first franchise partner. The specific locations of the new stores were not announced.

Founded in 1999 in Vancouver, Freshslice is known for its “3 in 1” system of pizza by the slice, unlimited toppings at one price, and delivery. Freshslice’s franchise model includes 0% percent royalty and ad fees and 0% percent market up on ingredients.

"We are thrilled to welcome Trenton into the Freshslice family, bringing our style of fresh pizza to the great state of Texas," said Ray Russel, founder & CEO of Freshslice. "Our 3-n-1 system meets the evolving needs of our franchisee partners at a fraction of our competitors' cost. Our franchise partners can expect a focus on our vision, values, and culture and an extremely successful model that boasts operational efficiency, high ROI and head office support."

In January, Freshslice announced its franchising program would enter the U.S. shortly after reaching its 100th store milestone.

"We are passionate about what we do and are eager to cultivate a new community of Freshslice enthusiasts in the U.S., replicating the incredible support we've received in Canada and delivering on higher profits to our franchise partners," said Russel at the time of the announcement.

Freshslice joins a number of pizza chains that have announced expansion plans recently, including Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian KitchenMarco’s Pizza and Papa Johns.
