Outdoor apparel brand Cotopaxi has opened its latest retail location in a well-known tourism hub.

The Salt Lake City-based company has selected Jackson Hole, Wyo., as the location for its new store. Located in the city’s historic Town Square, the new Cotopaxi store features outerwear, backpacks, travel accessories and more.

Cotopaxi operates more than 20 stores globally, including flagships in Boston; Park City, Utah; Portland, Ore.; Denver; and Kyoto, Japan. The company said that Jackson Hole was a “natural choice” for a brick-and-mortar retail presence. The city is famous for its ski resorts, wildlife and proximity to the Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks.

“We’re honored to plant roots in such a storied and vibrant setting,” said Lindsay Shumlas, who has served as CEO of Cotopaxi since October 2024. “Jackson’s blend of outdoor passion, environmental stewardship, and artistic spirit is deeply aligned with Cotopaxi’s mission. We look forward to outfitting both locals and adventurers passing through, and to participating in this community in a meaningful way.”

As part of its commitment to the local community, Cotopaxi will partner with One22, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping Teton County residents build stability and thrive through food assistance, emergency financial aid, mental health services, and workforce programs. Through its Community Grants program, Cotopaxi helped support One22 with a donation and hosted the organization in-store throughout the opening weekend.

“Our goal isn’t just to open stores, but to create spaces that foster belonging, inspire adventure, and make doing good part of everyday life,” added Shumlas. “Jackson is a natural fit for Cotopaxi — a community rooted in authentic adventure, strong local identity, and a shared sense of joy and connection that resonates with both residents and visitors.”
