The new Giant store will add more than 100 full- and part-time jobs to the local community.

The Giant Company has expanded its footprint in the City of Brotherly Love with a new location.

The Pennsylvania-based grocer opened its newest Giant store in Philadelphia on Dec. 13, a 40,000-sq.-ft. outpost located on the ground floor of the One Thousand One apartment complex in the city’s Hawthorne neighborhood on South Broad street.

The new South Broad store features Giant's signature fresh departments, including a large, “market-feel” produce department with dedicated space for organics, a meat and seafood section with a service deli with pre-sliced meats and cheeses, dairy and bakery sections, a full-service floral area, and a large beer and wine area featuring an assortment of wine slushies and ready-to-drink cocktails.  It also has a hot food bar which includes smoked and barbecue meats, pre-pack salad offerings in the deli, specialty cheese case, and an in-store sushi chef.

Customers will also be able to take advantage of an underground parking garage while shopping at the store. In addition, the store boasts convenient drop-off loop for customers who arrive at the store via taxi or rideshare service.
