Toys “R” Us is looking increasingly attractive to Amazon.
The online giant has looked at acquiring some locations from bankrupt Toys “R” Us — a move that would help it further increase its retail footprint, according to
Bloomberg.If Amazon does acquire the stores, it has no intention of maintaining the Toys “R” Us name, sources told
Bloomberg. Rather, Amazon has some of its own ideas.
In addition to using the space to promote its Echo line of devices, the stores would also help Amazon to put its inventory closer to where shoppers live, providing another quick delivery option for e-commerce customers. The space could also serve as a staging ground for grocery delivery from Whole Foods Market stores, the report said.
