Carter’s takes credit high-tech

5/23/2019
Children’s apparel brand Carter’s is launching a data-driven, mobile-friendly credit card program.

Carter’s has signed an agreement with the card services business of marketing/loyalty solutions provider Alliance Data Systems Corp. to provide private label credit card services for its U.S. retail segment. The company operates more than 800 U.S. stores, as well as e-commerce sites for its Carter’s, OshKosh B’gosh, and Skip Hop brands.

Alliance Data will create a data-driven credit card program that will integrate with Carter’s current US omnichannel rewards program, Rewarding Moments. Carter's intends to make the credit application process faster and more seamless by leveraging Alliance Data tools including Frictionless Mobile Credit, which allows customers to apply for credit in-store through a text message and a few keystrokes. The program will also feature driver's license instant credit, which streamlines the application process via scanning a shopper's driver's license.

"We are delighted to extend our Rewarding Moments loyalty program and offer our customers additional ways to earn rewards even faster by using our new Carter's credit card. In addition to faster rewards, consumers will also enjoy additional cardholder benefits," said Greg Foglesong, executive VP, retail and marketing, Carter’s. “We are thrilled to partner with Alliance Data to build and deliver our next evolution of our Rewarding Moments program."
