Camping World Holdings focused on expansion

3/14/2018
The nation’s largest retailer of recreational vehicles and related accessories, along with maintenance and repair services, continues to expand through acquisitions.

Camping World Holdings has been signed an agreement to acquire River City Recreation World, in Sherwood, Arkansas. The agreement comes on the heels of Camping World’s expansion in South Dakota with the acquisition of Spader’s RV Center in Sioux Falls, and New Prairie RV Southtown in Worthing.

“Our goal with this acquisition {River City} is to add more quality manufacturers and brands, increase our presence in the market and grow the workforce.” said Marcus Lemonis, chairman of Camping World Holdings. “The acquisition of River City Recreation World is in line with Camping World’s future growth plans and the company expects to soon announce several additional markets of expansion throughout the country in 2018.”

Camping World currently operates two locations in Arkansas, in Lowell and North Little Rock, with both locations specializing in service, RV sales and retail accessories. With the new acquisition, the company will further expand the market footprint by increasing Camping World’s presence in the state of Arkansas to three RV SuperCenters.

“We will actively pursue opportunities in our existing markets over the next few years to expand market share, grow our database and add additional distribution points for our products and services,” said Brent Moody, COO of Camping World Holdings. “The addition of River City RV will accomplish all three objectives and add a top dealer in the state of Arkansas.”

Founded in 1966, Camping World Holdings is headquartered in Lincolnshire, Illinois, and operates over 140 locations in 36 states and an e-commerce platform. Other brands in its retail portfolio include Erehwon Mountain Outfitters, Gander Outdoors, Good Sam, Overton’s, The House and Windward/W82.
