Fast-rising Oklahoma City project adds Bluemercury to its tenant list
It’s been less than five years since Oklahoma City native Ryan McNeill left his job developing strip centers in California and returned home with the dream of developing a modern, mixed-use, Oklahoma version of the award-winning Avalon center in Alpharetta, Ga.
Now, the Oak project he has developed with Veritas Development is open and announcing new tenants on a monthly basis. On the center’s directory are RH, Capital Grille, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, and Arhaus. Shake Shack will be opening in the near future.
Debuting this week at the 43-acre development at the intersection of I-44 and the Northwest Expressway north of downtown is Bluemercury.
“Bluemercury is a fantastic example of our commitment to bringing national, best-in-class brands to Oak that contribute to the dynamic retail experience,” said McNeill, the founder of Veritas. “Bluemercury embodies the commitment to hospitality, personalized service that directly furthers our mission of giving the people of OKC an integrated mixed-use destination that is unlike anything else in the region.”
Central to Bluemercury’s highly personalized service style is the Center Bar where trained beauty experts provide consultations and produce recommendations.
“Opening our first Oklahoma City location at Oak is allowing us to bring our curated, client-first approach to this dynamic and growing retail district,” said Jenna Goldberg, head of stores and interim head of merchandising at Bluemercury. “We look forward to serving this community and becoming a trusted local destination for luxury beauty.”
The first 120 shoppers who spend $250 or more at the Bluemercury opening on Oct. 10 will a gift-with-purchase of products from brands such as M-61 Skincare, Oribe, Augustinus Bader, and SkinCeuticals.
Since its debut, Oak has also introduced the 132-key Lively Hotel; the art installations Cloud Trees and Cloud Puncher in Heartwood Park; and The Residences at Oak, a 320-unit multifamily community.
The center presents 200-plus annual events and activations, ranging from weekly yoga and farmers markets to seasonal celebrations.
McNeill and Veritas development is joined by Everett Dobson and the Dobson family as partners in the multi-phased Oak project. The McNeill family has been part of the Oklahoma community for generations and has interests in banking, oil and gas, and other real estate investments.
