Eggs Up Grill hits 80 locations with more planned for year
An egg-centric fast-casual chain is planning to expand its store count in 2024.
South Carolina-based Eggs Up Grill has announced the signing of four new franchise groups so far this year, and adding more than 15 commitments to its development pipeline. Eggs Up Grill has opened nine locations year-to-date, recently celebrating its 80th restaurant in Bristol, Va. The chain is on track for 14 additional openings in 2024, with more than 100 under development or committed to open this decade.
Over the last six months, Eggs Up Grill has recorded strong franchise growth, including entering the new state of Mississippi in January and signing franchise agreements with new and existing franchisees for three units in Knoxville, Tenn., seven restaurants in Charlotte, N.C. and continued expansion in Texas, Florida and Georgia. Eggs Up Grill says it typically opens in suburban, grocery store anchored strip centers with either an end cap or an inline space.
Eggs Up Grill CEO Ricky Richardson said the chain has seen strong increases in guests and average restaurant sales over the past four years.
“In 2023, the average annual unit volume (AUV) for the top 50% of our restaurants exceeded $1.529 million, marking a 40% increase in AUV since 2019 and further cementing our winning position in the better breakfast category,” said Richardson. “The true validation of our guest appeal is that a typical Eggs Up Grill has grown guest counts by nearly 20% over that time period.”
In support of the planned expansion, Eggs Up Grill is providing tools and resources to help its franchise partners succeed, highlighted by the chain launching a new learning management system called Egg Yolk University.
