Dick's House of Sport plans to open at Cherry Hill in 2026.

The desks and conference rooms at the One Cherry Hill office building outside of Philadelphia are about to be replaced by climbing walls, batting cages, and soccer matches.

Dick’s House of Sport has signed a lease to take over 120,000 sq. ft of that space inside PREIT’s Cherry Hill Mall and re-fill it with sporting equipment, community events, and interactive experiences. The opening is planned for 2026.

Other new tenants signed to open at the property include Coach, Dr. Martens, Pop Mart, and Offline by Aerie.

"We are proud to welcome these outstanding retailers to Cherry Hill Mall," said PREIT’s chief revenue officer Joe Aristone. "The addition of Dick’s House of Sport, coupled with other sought-after retailers, reflects our strategic approach to capital allocation and our commitment to creating diverse, high-quality shopping experiences. These initiatives will strengthen the mall’s market position while improving overall performance and credit profile of this asset."

It was a year ago that Philadelphia-based PREIT exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy and named as its new CEO Jared Chupaila, former CEO of Brookfield Properties who spend a large portion of his retail real estate career at General Growth Properties.

New management has focused its attention on PREIT properties with potential for strong, long-term growth such as Cherry Hill Mall. When opened in 1961, it was the first indoor, climate-controlled shopping center east of the Mississippi River in the United States.

New brands that have opened at the mall in the past year include Alo Yoga, Columbia, Lacoste, Kendra Scott, Rowan, and Signature Workspace.

Cherry Hill Mall was designed by Victor Gruen for the Rouse Company. Gruen is known as the architect to have created America’s first indoor shopping center — Southdale Mall in Edina, Minn.
