Golfers who’ve long desired to play at St. Andrews but never got around to visiting Scotland will soon be able to shoot 18 on The Old Course and sip a single malt at the bar at the same time in Grapevine, Texas.
That’s thanks to a new retail center golf concept called Daylight Golf. It will be opening its first location on the ring road of Simon’s Grapevine Mills Mall later this year in the suburban Dallas-Fort Worth community.
The concept is a sports bar and restaurant with country-club-like décor, lined with virtual golf simulators where indoor duffers can play 25 renowned courses. Among them: Pebble Beach, PGA National, Pinehurst, and the Black Course at Bethpage.
“We’ve been searching for the right location to launch this new concept for over a year and we feel this is the ideal property in a great location for our premiere,” said Daylight Golf owner Jeff Dill.
The Woodmont Company, which brokered the deal on behalf of Daylight Golf, claims that Grapevine Mill draws 10 million visitors a year.
“With PayCom, Kubota, and the Gaylord by Marriott in Grapevine, private party and corporate bookings will be a targeted client base [for Daylight Golf],” said Derek Anthony, the lead broker for Woodmont.
