Crumbl names chief technology officer amid planned leadership shakeup
A fast-growing cookie chain has named a new technology leader.
Jacob Moncur has been promoted to serve as the next chief technology officer of Crumbl, replacing the outgoing Bryce Redd, who will serve as a strategic advisor during the transition. Redd had served in the role since 2018, one year after Crumbl was founded.
Moncur joined Crumbl in 2020 as VP of engineering. In that role, he led the technology team through Crumbl's rapid expansion, including building the company's earliest mobile ordering apps and spearheading Crumbl's launch on Apple Vision Pro.

The company said his promotion reflects both “his tenure and his role as an architect of the technology infrastructure underlying Crumbl's growth.”
“We are thrilled to recognize Jake's contributions with this well-earned promotion,” said Crumbl’s co-founders Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley, who also serve as CEO and chief brand officer, respectively. “Jake has been a cornerstone of how we have built and scaled this company, and there is no one better positioned to lead our technology forward. We are moving with purpose to build a deep bench of talent, and his appointment is exactly the kind of progress we are excited to share.”
Moncur’s promotion is part of Crumbl's broader leadership build-out alongside the company’s planned founder transition announced on May 11. McGowan and Hemsley will continue in their current roles until successors are identified. McGowan, Hemsley and Redd will remain on the board of directors.
"Crumbl has built something special, and I have had a front-row seat to it,” said Moncur. “I am proud of the foundation this team has built and energized by what we get to build next for our customers and franchise partners.”
Founded in 2017 in Logan, Utah, Crumbl operates nearly 1,200 locations across all 50 states, Canada and Puerto Rico. The chain’s menu features classic flavors every week alongside a rotating selection of specialty cookies.
