Costco enters pilot with Invisalign parent

The Invisalign System is prescribed to patients through Invisalign-trained orthodontists or general practitioner dentists as an alternative to traditional braces.

Costco members will now have access to a discounted bundle price on dental aligners through a new partnership.

Align Technology, Inc., a global medical device company that designs, manufactures, and sells the Invisalign System of clear aligners, has teamed up with the club retailer to pilot a new U.S. Invisalign treatment promotional program for Costco members on Costco.com.

An Invisalign treatment e-card and Invisalign Essentials Bundle+ is now available for Costco members to purchase on Costco.com for $99.99 to receive a $400 discount off Invisalign treatment with participating Invisalign providers. Costco members that purchase the e-card will receive a kit that includes the Invisalign treatment e-card with a redemption code and an Invisalign Essentials Bundle+ valued at $105.00 that includes an Invisalign Aligner Case, new Invisalign Cleaning Crystals+, Cleaning Foam, Cleaning Spray, Invisalign Aligner Seaters and an Invisalign travel pouch.

The Invisalign System is prescribed to patients through Invisalign-trained orthodontists or general practitioner dentists as an alternative to traditional braces. Align says that over 18 million patients worldwide, including more than 5 million teenagers, have been treated with the Invisalign System.

“We are excited to offer this pilot program and connect Costco members and their families with Invisalign-trained dental and orthodontic practices,” said John Morici, Align Technology executive vice president and chief financial officer. “The Invisalign treatment e-card program represents a key priority at Align, to give patients of all ages access to better smiles through Align’s innovations and doctor-directed Invisalign treatment.”

Based in Issaquah, Wash., Costco currently operates 884 warehouses, including 611 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 108 in Canada, 40 in Mexico, 33 in Japan, 29 in the United Kingdom, 18 in Korea, 15 in Australia, 14 in Taiwan, seven in China, four in Spain, two in France, and one each in Iceland, New Zealand and Sweden.

Costco also operates e-commerce sites in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Mexico, Korea, Taiwan, Japan and Australia.
