One of Connecticut’s most comprehensive health care networks, Hartford Health Care, has announced it would be leasing 40,700 sq. ft. of the former Sports Authority at North Haven Pavilion in North Haven.

The provider operates six acute-care hospitals, an air-ambulance service, rehabilitation services, and a large physician group among other health-related facilities.

John G. Orrico, president of National Realty & Development Corp., said the addition of the medical facility would play a crucial role in the modernization of its retail center.

“We continue to diversify our centers with complementary services that transform shopping centers into communities where guests benefit from a one-stop medical, retail, fitness, and entertainment destination,” Orrico said.

Headquartered in Purchase, N.Y., NRDC operates 78 projects in 14 states, including large retail power centers, grocery-anchored community shopping centers, corporate/ industrial business parks, and luxury residential.

Available retail space at North Haven Pavilion can be found on nrdc.com.
