The Save Mart Companies has tapped a new platform for same-day delivery.

The California-based grocer, which operates Save Mart, Lucky Supermarkets and FoodMaxx stores in California and Nevada, has added more than 170 stores to the Shipt Marketplace. In addition to expanding its West Coast presence, Shipt will also include access to alcohol delivery from the new stores through its app and website from nearly all of The Save Mart Company participating stores in major Northern California cities like Fresno, Sacramento, San Jose, Modesto, San Francisco and more.

“Shipt is excited to welcome The Save Mart Companies as a new partner in California and Nevada,” said Katie Stratton, Shipt’s chief growth officer. “Our partnership with their three beloved brands offers shoppers convenient, same-day delivery of fresh, value-driven products. Together, we look forward to the continued expansion of our West Coast footprint.”

The partnership with Shipt follows The Save Mart Companies’ recent collaboration with Amazon, which offers same-day, two-hour delivery from select Lucky Supermarkets stores in the Bay Area. The grocer also recently partnered with robotics start-up Fulfil Solutions to open a dark store, which serves as a micro-fulfillment warehouse and distribution hub for Save Mart’s same-day delivery and pick-up offering called Lucky Now.

“Our mission is to continue meeting the evolving needs of our customers each day,” said Tamara Pattison, chief digital officer at The Save Mart Companies. “We are proud to partner with a great brand like Shipt, who can help us deliver a seamless shopping and delivery experience for our customers at an affordable price. By increasing and diversifying our portfolio of e-commerce partners, we’re allowing customers to access what they love most about shopping online.”

The Save Mart Companies, a Kingswood Capital Management, LP portfolio company, operates approximately 200 Save Mart, Lucky and FoodMaxx stores in California and Western Nevada. In addition to its retail operation, the company also operates SMART Refrigerated Transport and is a partner in Super Store Industries (“SSI”), which owns and operates a distribution center in Lathrop, and the Sunnyside Farms dairy processing plant in Turlock, Calif.
