Target Corp. is enhancing its supply chain and logistics capabilities with a new hire.
The Minneapolis-based retailer appointed Gemma Kubat as senior VP, supply chain engineering and activation, effective Aug. 6. Most recently, Kubat was VP of global business service for Walmart. Prior to that, she worked for British supermarket chain Asda, which Walmart
sold to J Sainsbury in April 2018 a deal valued at about $10 billion.
At Target, Kubat will lead the design, activation and ongoing management of assets departments that support Target’s global supply chain and logistics network.
“We’re bringing together stores, digital channels, technology and supply chain to make shopping at Target even easier and more convenient,” Arthur Valdez, Target’s executive VP and chief supply chain officer, said. “Gemma’s talent for applying advanced solutions across large organizations is exactly the right fit for Target as we continue transforming our supply chain to meet the needs of our guests.”
