Destination Maternity looking for a new CFO

8/14/2018
Destination Maternity Corp. has begun the hunt for a new finance head.

The maternity apparel retailer announced that David Stern, executive VP and CFO, has departed the company, effective August 10, 2018. The company said it recently retained an executive search firm on an ongoing basis and has initiated a formal search for Stern’s replacement.

“We are confident in the abilities and talents of our finance and accounting teams and our experienced chief accounting officer, Rodney Schriver,” said Marla A. Ryan, CEO. “They will continue to ensure continuity of our operations and financial reporting until we have identified a candidate to succeed Mr. Stern as our chief financial officer.”

Ryan was appointed CEO in May 2018. Her appointment comes a week after investors voted to replace all four directors of the company with four dissidents, including three women, one of whom was Ryan. The losing slate, which was supported by the retailer, included Melissa Payner-Gregor, who served as an interim CEO of Destination Maternity since January 2018 and director of the company since August 2009.
