French authorities on Tuesday were searching the coast of southwest France to search for the CEO of Quiksilver parent Boardriders after his boat was found washed ashore.
In a statement, Boardriders said that chief executive Pierre Agnes took his boat out for fishing early on the morning of Jan. 30. His empty boat was found later in the morning, on a beach near his hometown.
“Given the situation on the ground is still evolving, our statements today will be limited,” the company said in a statement. We are concentrating on working with the local authorities on the search and rescue effort and supporting Pierre's family. Please keep Pierre and his family in your prayers.”
Boardriders designs, produces and distributes branded apparel, footwear and accessories, with an emphasis on outdoor action sports. Its brands include Quiksilver, Roxy, and DC Shoes. The company’s products are sold in more than 110 countries in a wide range of distribution, including company-owned stores, specialty stores, select department stores and through various e- commerce channels.
