Barnes & Noble has tapped a retail veteran as its new chief information officer.
The bookseller named Carlo Pochintesta as CIO, effective March 11. He joins the company from apparel retailer Rag & Bone Holdings, where he served as CIO since June 2014.
Prior to Rag & Bone, Pochintesta served as CIO for Steve Madden. He also served in IT positions at Gucci America and Ann Taylor.
“We are so pleased to welcome Carlo to Barnes & Noble, who brings with him decades of leadership in information technology at some of the country’s most respected retailers,” said CFO Allen Lindstrom. “His long and successful track record of innovation in information technology in the retail industry, particularly in the areas of merchandising and supply chain, make him a great fit for our company.”
