Bob's Stores
Bob's Stores is going out of business.

Bob's Stores is going dark.

As part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring, Bob’s Stores is holding going-out-of-business sales across all of its locations. (See list at end of article.) On June 18, Bob’s Stores and Eastern Mountain Sports, both owned by GoDigital Media Group, filed for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Dave Barton, CEO of both brands, said the companies needed reorganization and debt restructuring following a default on a $29.4 million loan with PNC Bank. But because Bob’s Stores was “unable to secure the finances needed to maintain operations,” the chain is shuttering its 21 stores and liquidating its inventory.

"We regret that our financial position necessitated the liquidation of Bob's Stores,” said Barton. “Bob's has been a stalwart of our local communities for nearly 70 years, and we know our customers remember us as having been there for major moments in their lives. We remain grateful to our vendors, suppliers, customers and employees for all of their support over the years."

ilco Merchant Resources, in a joint venture with Gordon Brothers, will manage the liquidation event, which will include all Bob's stores throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. The assortment includes a wide range of workwear, footwear, team wear and everyday clothing for the whole family, with discounts of up to 70% off.  Select store fixtures, furniture and equipment will also be available for sale.
