Bed Bath & Beyond names new accounting chief
Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. is adding a financial veteran to its C-suite as it continues to evolve as a company.
The company, which has been transforming itself into an "Everything Home Company" through a series of acquisitions, has named Jill Windrum, CPA, as chief accounting officer and deputy chief financial officer.
Windrum has nearly 25 years of financial and accounting expertise, with over half of that time in public-company finance leadership experience spanning executive financial leadership, accounting, financial planning and analysis, SEC reporting, M&A and operational finance.
She has served in multiple CFO roles, including as most recently as chief financial officer of space technology company Maxar Technologies’ approximately $500 million U.S. Government business. She spent nearly 12 years with the company in various roles.
Windrum began her career at KPMG, and served as a director in the firm’s Department of Professional Practice within its national office.
“We are building a company that demands financial rigor, operating discipline and accountability at every level, and that requires exceptional people with real subject matter expertise,” said Marcus Lemonis, executive chairman and CEO of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. “Jill represents exactly the caliber of leader we want on this team. She has the technical foundation, public-company experience and operating judgment to help us execute at a higher level.”
In her new roles, Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. says Windrum will help lead the company’s accounting and financial reporting organization while partnering across the enterprise on financial planning, controls, integration, process improvement, and the continued development of a “scalable finance organization.”
The appointment comes after the company announced a new corporate name and the relocation of its headquarters. Bed Bath & Beyond is changing its corporate name to “Neighborhood Intelligence,” and will relocate its corporate headquarters from Murray, Utah, to Nashville, Tenn. In addition, it will begin trading on Nasdaq under the ticker NXH, with its last day on the NYSE on Aug. 14 and its first day on Nasdaq on Aug. 17.
“We will continue building a world-class finance and accounting organization with deep subject matter expertise across supply chain and inventory, SG&A and consolidation synergies, real estate, omnichannel economics, financial systems and controls, and capital allocation,” added Lemonis. “The goal is simple: better information, better decisions and better financial outcomes.”
