Bad Ass Coffee invests in unified technology stack for franchisees
Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is deploying a new unified technology suite as it continues its nationwide expansion.
The coffee chain has selected PAR Technology Corporation’s unified suite of products to support its next phase of franchise growth. Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii will deploy PAR POS, PAR OPS, PAR Ordering, PAR Pay, PAR Punchh and PAR Hardware platforms across its franchise system, creating a fully-connected technology foundation with PAR Intelligence, PAR’s agentic intelligence layer, built in.
The chain says PAR's solutions will give every new franchisee the same operations and guest experience on a single system, rather than separate POS, loyalty and ordering tools that each require their own setup and support.

“Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has always been about more than coffee. We’re restaurant operators at heart, so we saw the special opportunity our brand can have in the coffee industry,” said Tom Wylie, president and COO of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. “We knew we needed a tech provider who could grow with us and give us one unified view of our data.”
The tech company says its PAR POS and PAR OPS connect front-counter transactions to back-office labor and inventory data, giving franchisees the consistency to open new stores without reinventing operations each time. PAR Ordering, PAR Pay and PAR Punchh extend that foundation digitally, so guests earn and redeem rewards whether they order at the counter, the drive-thru, or from their phone.
“As we grow, the most important thing we can protect is that experience, the feeling a guest gets whether they walk into their first location or their 50th,” added Wylie. “PAR gives our franchisees a unified foundation so we can scale the brand without franchisees having to figure out the technology from scratch or manage two or three different systems just to run their store.”
Founded in 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii operates approximately 50 U.S. franchise locations, with more than 100 additional shops in various stages of development.
