An American Eagle subsidiary whose digital network enables retailers to fulfill online orders using the fastest and cheapest carrier available is on a nationwide hunt for warehouse space.

Helping the company—called Quiet Platforms— to do that will be global retail services provider JLL through a partnership announced this week. Under the agreement, the two companies will seek to pioneer a flexible rent-as-a-percentage-of-revenue model for logistics real estate.

The Quiet Platforms Delivery Network employs a portfolio of carriers using a universal delivery label that eliminates the need for multiple shipping integrations, complex invoicing, and lengthy contractual agreements.

The network manages performance at the shipment level, ensuring that the best carrier decision is made parcel-by-parcel for the best service and cost.

“We’re focused on rapidly expanding our nationwide network of fulfillment centers to help all of the retailers and brands in the network deliver excellent experiences to their customers,” said Quiet Platforms president Shekar Natarajan. “With JLL, we will accelerate the growth of our facilities network through a unique, variable-expense model that offers more flexibility at the real estate level.”

A JLL press release noted that it would employ creative solutions across corporate subleases, retail-to-industrial conversions, and possible industrial real estate developments to streamline Quiet Platforms operations.

“We’re excited to partner with Quiet Platforms and seek opportunities that deliver a flexible transaction structure,” said Kris Bjorson, international director of JLL’s Industrial Brokerage in the Americas.

The Quiet Platforms Delivery Network employs a mix of national, regional, and local carriers covering all United States postal codes. The network extends the power of the carrier portfolio by deferring carrier assignment to the edge of the network. That innovation, according to Quiet Platforms, improves service levels for both shippers and carriers and leads to quicker one-to-two-day deliveries and cost reductions of up to $1.00 per parcel.
