The Home Depot Inc. is adding a new third-party partner to fulfill online orders.

The world’s largest home improvement retailer is partnering with on-demand delivery platform provider Instacart to offer same-day delivery in as fast as an hour from nearly 2,000 store locations across the U.S. Customers can now order home improvement items, including home appliances, building supplies, light fixtures and garden essentials, for home delivery.

The service also includes Instacart's Big & Bulky solution that enables retailers to offer same-day and scheduled delivery for large items up to 60 pounds. Home Depot also began partnering with the Walmart white-label GoLocal delivery service in late 2021.

Home Depot offers same-day and next-day delivery of items that easily fit in a car such as fasteners, paint and small tools via GoLocal in multiple markets across the country. Products that qualify have a WalMart GoLocal option offered at online checkout.

Meanwhile, in September 2022, chief Home Depot rival Lowe's and Instacart began making same-day delivery available from all Lowe's stores. Through the Instacart partnership, customers can order nearly 30,000 items for delivery in as fast as an hour.
