Online menswear retailer switches to RFID tags to improve ops

9/27/2016

The Black Tux has implemented new RFID tags to speed delivery and improve order accuracy.

The online formal wear rental company has implemented RFID tags from Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., including its new washable UHF RFID fashion tag as well as its rugged linen tag to reduce garment processing time and improve order accuracy.

Additionally, integrating RFID tracking into Black Tux’s order management process will help its customers get faster delivery of formal wear and accessories while reducing internal handling and administrative costs.

The fashion tag, which is Fujitsu’s thinnest tag, is made from transparent materials, allowing it to be sewn into any tie, sheer fabric, accessory, or inserted into a shoe. It is home wash, dry-clean, and ironing safe.

“We have created an entirely new tuxedo rental model which guarantees both fast and accurate delivery of tuxedos and formal wear to our customers,” said Patrick Coyne co-CEO of The Black Tux. “Using the Fujitsu RFID tags helps us to process our orders faster and more accurately, while reducing labor costs. We can also speed processing of returned orders to ensure immediate and accurate accounting of all returned items. Our customers really appreciate the speedy delivery of their formal wear as well as the simple and easy returns completion process.”
