HSN, Inc. has become one of the first retailers with a fully functioning augmented reality app for tablets and mobile devices.



HSN, Inc. has launched an augmented reality design app across two of its home and lifestyle brands in its Cornerstone portfolio: Frontgate and Ballard Designs. The technology, powered by augmented commerce provider Cimagine, allows users to virtually place desired objects in their own homes, and engage with more than 1000 home décor and furnishings.



The easy-to-use app utilizes the device’s camera to scan the room, then overlays the product in a realistic, 3D immersive experience, showing the size, color and aesthetic of the furniture in that specific room. It also allows the user to select and visualize more than one product in the room and share the virtual design with others and crowd source design ideas.
