Wawa plans big expansion in Northern Virginia

Wawa will be expanding across Northern Virginia in a big way.

The privately owned convenience store chain plans to open 40 locations in Northern Virginia during the next 15 years. The first, in the town of Vienna, is set to open in April 2020.  It will be approximately 6,290 sq. ft. with seating areas. It also will feature Tesla Charging Stations.

Wawa is on track to open some 63 stores this year. The company currently operates more than 870 stores throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Washington, D.C.
