Bed Bath & Beyond VP to join C-suite at Destination XL

Destination XL has named a new chief marketing officer.

Destination XL Group (DXL) is getting a new marketing head.

The men’s big-and-tall apparel retailer named James Reath as chief marketing officer, effective September 26, 2022. He will succeed Ujjwal, who is leaving DXL, effective October 11.

Most recently, Reath served as senior VP, marketing, Bed Bath & Beyond. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2020, he was senior VP marketing, Macy’s. He was also executive VP, head of retail at BBDO (New York), a partner at McKinney and chief marketing officer at Young & Rubicam.

“Jim’s appointment underscores our ongoing transformation and commitment to building out the organization’s continued focus on customer engagement through data-driven personalization, loyalty and digital marketing,” said Harvey Kanter, president and CEO, Destination XL Group (DXL).

DXL operates retail stores and outlets under the DXL Big + Tall and Casual Male XL banners. The company is headquartered in Canton, Mass.
