Topgolf has announced it will open its seventh Florida location later this year in Fort Myers, Fla., off I-75 near the Cypress Lakes development. Another Topgolf center is under construction in St. Petersburg.

The new location is near Kite Realty Group’s Colonial Square Town Center mall, whose tenants include Kohl’s, Hobby Lobby, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, and Dollar Tree.

"We are thrilled to be part of the Cypress Lakes development,” said Topgolf CEO Dolf Berle. “The City of Fort Myers and Lee County have been great to work with and we look forward to continuing our strong partnership together."

Being a naturally socially distanced game, golf activity grew by 8% in 2020 to 36.9 million players. Topgolf’s multi-leveled golf gaming gallery, along with its bars and restaurants, is credited with also attracting some of those half-million new participants.

The Fort Myers location will be a two-level venue with 72 hitting bays separated by dividers for extra safety and comfort.
