Coach has closed the doors to its store in Manhattan’s iconic luxury shopping zone.

The upscale leather goods and accessories maker has shuttered its three-level, 6,000-sq.-ft. store at Madison Avenue and 57th Street. The store, which had occupied the prime piece of real estate for more than 30 years, is located in a 330,000-sq.-ft. building owned by Vornado.

A Coach spokesperson told Commercial Property Executive that the closing “was long planned given the opening of Coach House in such close proximity.” Coach House, which opened in 2016, is located on Fifth Avenue at 54th Street.

Italian luxury fashion retailer Fendi, part of the LVMH Group, will take the Coach space along with additional square footage in the building where Coach was located, according to the report by Commercial Property Executive
