Amazon Canada eyes new province for supply chain facility

Amazon Canada is planning to open its first-ever fulfillment center in Quebec.

The Canadian subsidiary of e-tail giant Amazon will open a new supply chain site in Lachine on the island of Montreal, Quebec in time for the 2020 holiday shopping season. Amazon Canada expects to create more than 300 new, full-time jobs starting on the first day of operation.

Associates at this new facility will pick, pack, and ship items for customers, ranging from toys and pet products to small electronics.

"We're excited about our growth in Montreal, which gives us the opportunity to better serve our customers across Quebec," said Alexandre Gagnon, VP of Amazon Canada. "The Greater Montreal area has a talented workforce, and we are committed to providing the area with great job opportunities that have comprehensive pay and benefits."
