  • RadioShack woos younger consumers with Beats By Dr. Dre

    FORT WORTH, Texas — RadioShack is teaming up with Beats By Dr. Dre, the popular brand of headphones and HD sound systems, on a new advertising campaign featuring recording artist Robin Thicke's hit single "Blurred Lines" and the Beats by Dr. Dre Pill portable Bluetooth speaker.

     

    The 30-second commercial ties into a special in-store offer that will allow RadioShack customers and music fans to download an exclusive remix of "Blurred Lines" with the purchase of any qualifying product.

     

  • Cache names marketing chief

    New York -- Cache said Monday that it has appointed Arnold Cohen as executive VP/chief marketing officer for the women’s apparel chain.

    Cohen’s background includes eight years with American Eagle Outfitters, where he was involved in creating the first mobile concept, the early iteration of Martin and Osa, and the back-on-campus initiative that rolled out to 50 colleges.

    GLENVIEW, Ill. — Crystal Light, a leading beverage mix brand, is launching an e-commerce platform, Shop.CrystalLight.com.

    St. Paul, Minn. -- Manhattan Associates said Monday that outdoor chain Gander Mountain has selected its Enterprise Order Management and Store Inventory & Fulfillment solutions to help drive omni-channel enterprise transformation.

    Gander is using the Manhattan solutions to create a seamless experience for its customers across channels with a single view of inventory, and to allow Gander shoppers to control how and when they take delivery of Gander merchandise.

  • Blink Fitness to debut new New Jersey club

    Lodi, N.J. -- Charter Realty & Development said that Blink Fitness will open a 20,000-sq.-ft. facility in Lodi, N.J.

    The fitness facility operator has grown to 13 locations in the New York Tri-State area, with another approximately 15 openings scheduled over the next 12 months.

     

  • Kohl’s steps up e-commerce game

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kohl’s has opened a new IT office in the Silicon Valley to support its online sales growth and strategic focus on omni-channel initiatives, including process automation and the re-platforming of Kohls.com.

     

    The 52,000-sq.-ft. office space in Milpitas, Calif., will be an extension of the IT team at the company’s Menomonee Falls, Wis., corporate office and will initially employ 30-plus Kohl’s associates with the potential to accommodate future growth, said the retailer.

     

  • Winick to market former Daffy’s at 3 Columbus Circle

    New York -- SL Green Realty Corp. and The Moinian Group announced they have appointed Winick Realty Group to exclusively market the former Daffy’s location at 3 Columbus Circle, in Manhattan.
     
    The multi-level retail site is situated in the center of the 57th Street corridor, in close proximity to the new Nordstrom location that is set to open in 2018.
