RadioShack profit surges 23%, beats Street
Fort Worth, Texas -- RadioShack Corp. reported Monday that profit for the quarter ended Sept. 30 rose 23% to $46 million, compared with a profit of $37.4 million in the year-ago period.

Revenues increased 6.5% to $1.05 billion, compared with sales of $990 million a year earlier. Wall Street expected revenue of $1.03 billion.

Same-store sales rose 6.2%.

Minneapolis -- Target announced that more than 55 of its stores in the Chicago area have been redesigned to further deliver one-stop shopping convenience for guests. The stores have been updated to feature the retailer’s open-market grocery layout, with an expanded selection of fresh produce, fresh meat and baked goods.
