  • Adobe: Holiday shoppers are on the move

    Mobile will drive more than half of Thanksgiving Day online shopping visits (51%) for the first time in 2015.

    That is just one mobile-friendly statistic from the new Adobe 2015 Digital Index Online Shopping Predictions. The Index also forecasts mobile will account for close to a third (29%) of all holiday sales, a 12% increase from 2014. iOS will drive 22% of sales, Android just 7%.

  • Report: TV commerce has new player

    Apple TV reportedly has a formidable new rival in the emerging channel of TV commerce.

    According to GeekWire, Amazon is providing direct purchase capabilities through its Fire TV devices, without fanfare. A pilot has been underway for about two weeks, with sources indicating performance so far has exceeded expectations.

  • Stark Enterprises purchases The Shoppes at Stonecreek

    Pickerington, Ohio -- Stark Enterprise announced the addition of The Shoppes at Stonecreek located in Pickerington, Ohio to its retail portfolio. The 45,000 sq. ft. center is currently 100% occupied, tenants include: Lifetime Fitness, Petland, Advanced Vapor, Lomonico’s and Roosters.

    “This acquisition further expands our footprint outside of Northeast Ohio and is a prime opportunity for us to prove the transformational impact we have on our properties,” said Ezra Stark, COO for Stark Enterprises.

  • Study: Consumers get smart about e-commerce in Q3

    Consumers are making more e-commerce transactions, and smartphones are helping to drive growth.

    According to the new Q3 2015 Performance Index report from e-commerce technology platform MarketLive, e-commerce sales continue to improve across all retailer categories (apparel, beauty, home furnishings, catalog, brick-and-mortar, and brand-direct), and across all major performance metrics. These include revenues (+13.5%), traffic (+19.8%), and average order value (+3.9% to $158).

  • Apple eases retail app access

    Consumers will be able to more easily find and download retail e-commerce apps from the Apple App Store just as the holiday shopping season heats up.

    Apple will launch a new category called “Shopping” on the App Store on Nov. 5. The category will include e-commerce apps from retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, Target and eBay. Also included will be apps from digital coupon and deal providers such as RetailMeNot and Groupon, as well as price comparison apps such as ShopSavvy.

  • 45 Retailers named for expanded and redesigned Broadway Plaza

    Walnut Creek, Calif. -- Macerich announced 45 retailers set to join Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, California. The center, anchored by Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Macy's, is undergoing a major renovation that will add 315,000 sq. ft. of new space, parking, new finishes and refreshed outdoor amenities.
