Wal-Mart Cuts November Comps Outlook

11/29/2004

Bentonville, Ark., Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. expects its November comparable-store sales to increase by just 0.7% over the prior-year period. That compares with a previous estimate of a 2% to 4% increase for this month. One reason for the readjustment was weaker-than-expected holiday shopping on Black Friday and the week leading up to the traditional start of the holiday shopping season.
